Hi neighbors, and happy February!
Survey results
Remember the survey we shared last September? We've collected the results from 14 homes and are sharing them for you all to view: link to survey results. If you have additional questions or comments after reviewing the results, please feel free to email plehoa@outlook.com. We'll be using this feedback to shape this year's goals for the neighborhood.
Treasurer nomination and vote
One of the questions we asked in the survey was a call for treasurer nominations. We initially received 2 nominations that were declined. Luckily, we've received a more recent nomination that was accepted, so we're ready to vote! Please try to respond by February 15th. Link to vote: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/VSBMV9T. Our current nominee is Shaun Bierman, who has provided a little background to share with you:
Originally growing up in Wisconsin, I made my way to Washington by way of the US Navy. Shortly after moving to Washington, I met my wife Barbieto and established ourselves in Edmonds. We moved to Woodinville early last year with our daughter Kaya who is 20 months old and two dogs (Pocky and Penny). We chose Paradise Lake Estates in order to establish our new family in a great neighborhood and school district. I am currently working in Configuration Management at Blue Origin with an MBA focused on Information Technology Management.
I am wanting to join the board for Paradise Lake Estates in order to provide myself as a resource for everybody in the HOA. My goal for being a board member is to continue to growing the community of this neighborhood as well as protect the investment each of us have had to make by living here. Above all, I want to help support everybody in living their best life here in Paradise Lake Estates.
New address!
We've recently gotten a new PO Box: 1055. The address has been updated on our site, https://www.plehoa.org/contact-us.
Dues
Annual dues of $430 will be due March 15, 2021. Please send a check to:
Paradise Lake Estates HOA
PO Box 1055 Woodinville, WA 98072 Due to COVID-19, my kids will not be hand-delivering written notices this year. Please, if you would help us spread the word to someone near you who might not see the message in email / Facebook / blog, I'd be very grateful.
Security
In the past couple of months, we've been noticing some vagrants regularly parking at the Paradise Lake Natural Area, and one individual has been seen walking in our neighborhood on many occasions, sometimes entering the forested common areas. When I called the King County sheriff's department, they agreed to check in with the individual but couldn't offer much else unless the situation escalates. They advised us to post signs around the common areas to indicate that they are for residents only, which we will be doing in the next few weeks. We will also be installing fake cameras on each set of mailboxes as a deterrent. These cameras will not be capable of recording, and we will continue to respect your privacy. Please let us know if you have any additional concerns about the vagrant activity or the security measures being taken by the HOA board. Please remember to vote for treasurer by February 15th and pay dues by March 15th. Thanks so much!
