Hi PLE Homeowners! Hope you’re all enjoying our great spring weather and the opportunity to get outside and do some gardening, exercise, and other activities. Like many others, our household has had its ups and downs dealing with the "new normal." As such, we've dialed back on communications and requests on behalf of the HOA board. It's hard to judge when is best to send a message, or wait until life returns to something a bit more familiar. As Washington has entered phase 1 of lifting restrictions and we don't know how long phases will last, it's about time to start reaching out to you all again.  First and foremost, to echo the last message, if anyone needs help, please let us know! You may email or call me, and I can help run an errand or connect you with someone who can. Our PLE community is here to support one another. Secondly, I owe an explanation about what happened with Tandem. The food truck served us twice. On the second visit they were instructed to park at a different location and failed to comply, so we had to thank them and part ways. Finally, a word about gravel. When we think about curb-appeal, this is definitely a big contributor. This is why the HOA made the decision last year to spend a significant amount of funds (nearly $6000; we leveraged $2500 saved through volunteer efforts applied toward other needs) to remove weeds, moss, and grass from common gravel and to add gravel where it was thin. This one-time cleanup included not only common areas but some homeowners' areas that needed an extra push. After this initial cleanup we've been spending $150/month to keep PLE’s common gravel weed-free. The improved landscaping, clean new gravel, and other maintenance are a definite improvement over previous years. Thanks to the many of you doing your part to maintain and improve the appearance of PLE; your efforts are noticed and appreciated! Just a reminder: now that everything is blooming again, please take a look at the gravel in front of your property and set a goal to freshen it up this month by removing weeds and moss. If this goal doesn't work for you, please let us know what's leading to that conclusion, so we can see what can be done. Let’s continue our progress toward improving the appearance of our PLE community. Thanks so much, and keep hanging in there! Michelle Verner PLE Communications 469-247-5904
