Happy spring to the entire PLE community. Now that the weather is getting sunnier and warmer, it’s been great to see more people out and about in the community. As our situation regains some semblance of normalcy, we’ll resume more activities. We look forward to seeing more of you soon!
Here are a few of the latest developments at PLE:
We’d like to welcome Shaun Bierman as our new Treasurer. He’s been processing the annual dues and reviewing our finances and will have a full update for the community soon. Thanks to everyone for sending in your annual dues.
We’re continuing our ongoing landscaping improvements – a BIG THANKS to William Verner and family for sprucing up the monument. He and his sons spread 5 yards of new mulch, replaced damaged lights, and repaired the sprinklers.
To address some recent unwanted visitors in the community, we recently put up new “residents only” signs warning non-residents against trespassing in our common areas. Please let a PLE board member know if you see any non-residents entering these areas.
King County has also been busy restoring the rocks in our runoff ditches. While we don’t have an exact timeline for their completion, we welcome the improvement and will restore disturbed gravel once they’re done.
The county is also going to start work on gas pipelines soon. Several locations have been market recently, so expect some more workers and equipment in the area soon.
As we walk through our community, we notice that most residents also have a sense of pride in their properties, and have kept the gravel areas, trees and shrubs in neat and trim condition. We all appreciate your efforts to keep PLE looking good. However, there are still a few holdouts who haven’t kept up, so there are weeds and grass growing through the gravel in a few areas.
If the gravel or drainage ditch in the front of your property looks anything like this, please make some time to clean up the grass and weeds to be fair to the other residents and keep our community standards up. Here are some projects under consideration for this summer. Please let us know if you have feedback or questions about any of these items, or ideas for other projects:
Ongoing annual cleaning of gravel in community areas. Some additional cleanup will likely be required one the gas pipeline and irrigation ditch work is complete.
Remove hazardous leaning trees throughout the community to avoid road blockage, fence or house damage, and liability issues. We’ll preserve as many as possible, as long as they are not at risk of falling.
Minor landscaping improvements around the monument
We’re also considering an in-person neighborhood event for late summer or fall. Please let us know if you have any feedback on this event.
Over the past few months, we’ve had a few inquiries about sheds, gravel, landscaping and other items, so we’ve begun an FAQ here: https://www.plehoa.org/faq
